Kevin lives by Lake Merritt in Oakland, California, and has  been in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1991.  Over that time, he has worked in journalism, drawn comic strips, painted watercolors of people, birds and circuses, illustrated books and shown art in galleries, museums and fine coffee houses across California.

His business, Visual Ink, which he started with Michael Stark in 1998, specializes in creating clear visual communication pieces, illustrations, and maps, for many familiar national and international organizations and companies.

In the upcoming years, Kevin looks forward to publishing several children's book titles, that he has written and illustrated, maybe try to get 'The King of Kook' comic strip picked up.

This blog is an opportunity to reach out in a different way than on a typical website.  What is most exciting is the ability to publish comic strips, stories, paintings, and anything else, while it is fresh and vital.  To get feedback and suggestions from people all around the world.  To to build an expanding community of artists, poets, friends, and comic and children's book lovers all over creation.  To be extraordinary!

The components of this blog:

King of Kook, the comic strip

Every entry will feature a 'King of Kook' comic strip, kind of like the prize in a box of Cracker Jacks or the comic in Bazooka Joe Bubble Gum.  The only problem with this strip is that if you scroll down through the blog entries, you'll end up reading the comic strip backwards.

If you really want to read these, and in chronological order, see the 'Kevin's Portfolios and Galleries' section, where all the strips are saved under the 'Kook-pedia.'

Why 'The King of Kook?'  Many reasons!  Too numerous to mention here, but I'll put up several entries about the sources for this strip and link this section to those posts.

Blog Entries

Only the most interesting and current events in the world of art, magic and circuses will be featured here, written about in the most interesting and engaging format -- God I hope!!!!  Please post ideas, comments, etc., and help me find the coolest stuff.

My  dream will be to merge my sketchbook, stories, and all kinds of fantastic events to create a new kind of visual, ongoing story, with interactions, downloads, and so many ways of using this format to reach out!

Flower Boy's Paintings

Also under 'Kevin's portfolios and galleries, this is a 'current' posting of 'Flower Boy's Paintings.'  These are the little postcard-size flowers I paint as often as possible.

Look forward to more to come, and please, send suggestions, feedback, and become a part of this online community!
